Supported Independent Living provides shared housing or individual living with specialised support for everyday activities, so participants can live as independently as possible. Path 2 Life Care delivers high quality SIL homes across Sydney and Melbourne, with experienced staff providing 24/7, person centred assistance built around each participant’s goals and NDIS plan.
SIL pays for the support, not the building. The house itself is usually funded separately. Most people in SIL live in a shared home with one to three housemates and support staff on site, and depending on the plan that support might be a few hours a day or 24 hours including active overnight.
Our homes sit across Penrith, Coogee, Ashfield, Kogarah, Enfield and Melbourne’s west, close to transport, healthcare and community.
Looking at a specific area? Our SIL accommodation in Penrith guide covers the home we run in Western Sydney, who it suits and the steps to arrange a look through.
Our team is dedicated to empowering you to achieve your utmost potential and relish a rewarding domestic life. We provide invaluable assistance to:
Our support does not stop at the front door. We connect everyday living at home with real community access, including our own men’s centre, so independence grows in every part of life.
Cooking, budgeting, cleaning and the everyday routines that keep a home running, built up at a pace that suits you.
Support to build friendships, communication and the social confidence that makes community feel within reach.
Our men's community centres in Ashfield and Keilor East are built into the model, a place to connect, take part and belong well beyond the home.
SIL is the support, meaning staff helping with daily tasks. SDA is the building, meaning housing designed or modified for high support needs. Many participants have both, but you can have SIL in an ordinary rental with no SDA funding at all.
Usually yes. SIL needs to be stated in your NDIS plan before you can use it. Your planner or support coordinator can help you request it, and we can provide the information they need to assess your support hours.
Most of our homes have two to four residents. We introduce prospective housemates before anyone commits, so nobody moves in blind.
