What to know before you enquire

SIL and SDA are not the same funding

SDA is funding for the home itself, purpose-built or modified housing for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SIL is funding for the support delivered inside it: personal care, meals, medication, building life skills and getting out into the community. Many of the men we support are funded for both. Where a home is SDA, the dwelling comes through our SDA partner and the support comes from our team.

Who our homes are for

Every Path 2 Life Care home is a home for men. We support adult male NDIS participants across Sydney and Melbourne, and we match on housemates and daily routine as carefully as on funding, because who someone lives with usually decides whether a placement lasts.

What you need in the plan

For SIL, you need supported independent living funding in the participant’s NDIS plan, usually supported by a roster of care. For SDA you also need SDA stated in the plan, an assessment showing extreme functional impairment or very high support needs, and a housing or occupational therapy report. If you are not sure where the participant stands, we can work it through with your support coordinator or OT. NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed enquiries are all welcome.
